"I will promote policy that will protect our natural resources and influence investment in renewable resources. I believe clean air, water, and land is a right for all people."

"I support substantial investment to ensure that our seniors have adequate support services. There is a growing need for personal care assistants, adult day care services, medical supplies and equipment and customized living spaces that allow seniors to stay in the home."

Meet Shelly

Can you describe your background?

I am a lifelong resident of St. Croix Valley and was raised in Marine, graduating from Stillwater High School. I went on to receive my teaching degree from the University of Wisconsin River Falls and a Master's Degree in Education. I am a retired Stillwater High School English teacher and coach cross country running. I have an ear to the community and am eager to represent the community that raised me.

What made you want to run for office?

Our current representative is absent from the community and does not reflect the values of this district. Her very far right agenda put corporations before people and her votes have had negative effect on the environment, public school funding, and affordable healthcare. I will advocate for fair and predictable school funding, stewardship of the environment and investment in renewable energy, and a path to universal healthcare.

Can you describe your district?

District 39b is in the Minneapolis Area, composed of Washington County, various cities, and several townships. We have a DFL congresswoman, senator, and the district went (narrowly) for Clinton.
